Established over twenty years ago by Mark Yazbeck, the name AMW for a band that truly was 'Australia's Most Wanted' seemed fitting to house this country's premier Arabic musicians.
Based in, but never limited to Sydney, AMW, now with Alex Yazbeck as musical director, specialises in Arabic music the way it's meant to be - vibrant and full of energy!
AMW has supported, toured and performed with many international acts both across Australia and internationally - Joseph Attieh, Melhem Zein, Wael Kfoury, Tamer Hosny, Sara Al-Hani, Khaldoun Soudan, Naji Osta, Laura Khalil, Darine Hadchiti, Moeen Shreif, Wael Jassar, Sobhi Tawfiq, George El Rassi, Georges Zougheib and Fadi Makdessi.
AMW has also appeared alongside Anton Aktila and Jessica Mauboy of Australian Idol at various events here at home in Sydney.
Featuring a core of vocals, drums, bass, Middle Eastern percussion, keys and sax, and having the ability to extend and include almost any instrument requested, AMW strives to provide the most professional and highest quality entertainment services for your special event, whatever it may be.
Performing as a one man show, or with the full backing of AMW's live band, a good keyboardist and vocalist is what you need to get the party started.
Our percussion section gives life and added Arabic flavour to AMW's performance sets. With power over the hottest beats and precision with the most complicated of rhythms, our percussionists will never fail to impress.
Whether it be one of the greatest saxophonists this world has seen, a beautiful string section, a funky bassist, or a traditional flute player that sends you back in time, AMW will provide the perfect instrumental parts to the performance you require.
